Public Transportation - Green Transportation Capital Grants

During its 2019 session, the Washington State Legislature provided $12 million for a new Green Transportation Capital Grant Program (RCW 47.66.120). The grants are provided to transit agencies to fund capital projects to reduce the carbon intensity of the Washington transportation system. Examples include electrification of vehicle fleets, capital facilities to facilitate fleet electrification and/or hydrogen refueling and upgrades to electrical transmission and distribution systems. WSDOT is now working with stakeholders to develop the parameters for this grant program. The notification of funding availability with more details about the grants will be published in the fall of 2019.
