SR 527 - Penny Creek - Fish Passage

Project overview

As part of WSDOT’s fish passage program, we will build a 26-foot fish-passable structure under SR 527 just south of 164th Street Southeast in Mill Creek. The current 9-foot culvert causes water to flow too fast for fish to continue upstream. The new bridge span will open more than 8 miles of habitat.

What to expect

During the project, SR 527 just south of 164th Street Southeast/Mill Creek Road/Seattle Hill Road will likely be reduced to one lane in each direction during overnight hours. Building the fish passage structure will also require at least two weekend-long road closures. The exact dates of overnight lane reductions and weekend closures will be announced closer to construction.
