Presentations Sept. 9 and 13; public comment after each meeting and online
SEATTLE – Two key presentations are coming up Sept. 9 and 13 as a team of representatives from the state, city of Seattle and transit agencies discuss design refinements for the new State Route 520. Public comments on the recommended designs will be accepted following each of the meetings, and online from Sept 13-24.
This year the state Legislature directed a workgroup consider design refinements to the SR 520 preferred alternative from I-5 to Medina. When Gov. Chris Gregoire announced the preferred alternative in April, she acknowledged that the legislation, ESSB 6392, called for design refinements and transit connections in the plans.
Draft recommendations about these transit connections and design refinements will be available online starting the afternoon of Sept. 13. Comments will be accepted Sept. 13-24. A final report from the workgroup will be submitted to Gov. Gregoire and the state Legislature Oct. 1.
