REPUBLIC-The Washington State Department of Transportation has lifted an emergency speed limit reduction on SR 21 from the Curlew State Park entrance to Kettle River Rd., mileposts 168.4 to 181.18, north of Republic in Ferry County.
The speed limit is now the normal 55 mph in this section.
The legal speed limit on this section of SR 21 had been reduced to 35 mph for all vehicles since March ninth.
Warm weather and traffic had caused pavement breakups on this highway section prompting the need for the speed limit restrictions. With the recent weather conditions, further damage should not occur.
