SHELTON – WSDOT this week awarded a contract for a three-month pavement preservation project that creates an estimated 25 jobs this summer.
Doolittle Construction, LLC of Bellevue won the contract with a bid just over $1 million.
Crews will chip-seal a three-mile stretch of State Route 102 (Washington Corrections Center to US 101) and a seven-mile stretch of State Route 106 (East Main Street to Twanoh State Park) in Mason County. Work starts in July.
The chip-sealing operation repairs pavement damage and extends the life of the roadway. This treatment also improves safety for motorists by creating a smoother driving surface.
