SEATTLE – Drivers should plan for a closure of the Olive Way on-ramp to northbound I-5 this weekend as crews continue to repair a retaining wall damaged by a bus-involved collision on December 19, 2008.

The northbound I-5 on-ramp from Olive Way will be closed:

  • Saturday, Jan. 31 and Sunday, Feb. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day.

A signed detour will point drivers to the alternate Mercer St. on-ramp. This is noisy work so crews are working during the day to eliminate noise for neighbors at night. Crews anticipate two additional weekends of work may be required to complete the repairs. Drivers can check current traffic conditions on I-5 just south of the construction site by checking our traffic camera at Yesler Way: www.wsdot.wa.gov/Traffic/seattle/I5_yeslerway.htm#cam
