SEATTLE – Drivers can expect delays through south Everett next week as crews close multiple lanes in both directions of Interstate 5 for striping and paving.

Monday, Aug. 18 - Crews will close the two left lanes of southbound I-5 from SR 526 to 112th Street SE from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.

Tuesday, Aug. 19 – Crews will close the three left lanes of northbound I-5 from 128th Street SE to SR 526 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.

Wednesday, Aug. 20 – Crews will close the southbound I-5 HOV lane between SR 526 and 112th Street SE from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to pave the southbound entrance to the new park and ride lot.

The striping is weather dependent, which means crews need dry weather. If it rains, crews will reschedule.

The work is part of Sound Transit’s South Everett Freeway Station project. When the project is complete, buses, carpools and vanpools will be able to go directly to and from the I-5 HOV lanes to a new 400-stall park-and-ride lot in the I-5 median at 112th Street SE. A new access road from 112th Street SE will allow single-occupant vehicles to reach the park-and-ride. For more information, visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/i5/SouthEverett
