VADER – The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close the west end of State Route 506 starting at Telegraph Road (milepost 8) for one week in August. Beginning Monday, August 18 through Sunday, August 24, the complete closure will allow WSDOT maintenance workers to safely repair and resurface the bridge over Lacamas Creek.

Over the last few years, maintenance crews have patched up portions of the damaged pavement surface, resulting in a rough and unsteady ride in need of a total resurfacing. In addition, crews will use the closure to repair any problems within the bridge deck itself.

During the closure, the designated detours will be the Westside Highway that runs from 506 to Castle Rock, and South Military Road which runs from SR 506 to SR 505.
