Relief is now in sight WSDOT opens both I-90 Indian John Hill rest areas near Cle Elum
CLE ELUM – Drivers and passengers alike will be relieved to know that at 4:40 p.m., Dec. 17, WSDOT and the contractor finished the water system repair and were able to open the eastbound I-90 Indian John Hill rest area near Cle Elum right on schedule.
At 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, WSDOT and the contractor finished the repairs to the water system at the westbound rest area and opened it three days ahead of schedule.
The Indian John Hill rest areas have been closed frequently for short periods of time to do temporary repairs on the water systems. The replacements and repairs being done now are more substantial and should keep the systems functioning well for many years to come.

• At - www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/trafficalerts/, the color-coded map shows statewide traffic conditions, including construction delays and highway incidents.
• Drivers with web service on their cellular phones and PDAs can access small-screen I-90 pass updates at: www.wsdot.wa.gov/small by clicking on the "mountain pass reports" link.
On the Road:
When driving on ice and snow, take it slow.
• Overhead and roadside electronic signs provide emergency and incident alerts.
• Highway advisory radio - Yellow signs with flashing lights - alert drivers to tune into radio frequencies (AM 1610 and AM 530) airing construction updates.
