EVERETT – From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, construction crews working for WSDOT will close the exit ramp from northbound Interstate 5 to eastbound US 2 in Everett. Crews will be finishing work on a new stormwater drainage system for the ramp.
A signed detour will be available for drivers on northbound I-5 headed for eastbound US 2. Drivers should expect some delays, particularly in the late morning through early evening.
This weekend’s work is part of a $263 million project to widen I-5 with additional lanes and make other freeway improvements through Everett.
The project is scheduled to be complete by June 2008. You can find more details about the I-5 Everett HOV freeway expansion project by visiting www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/I5/HOVSR526toUS2/.
