We are expecting high traffic volumes at all U.S./Canadian border crossing areas. A strong Canadian dollar is expected to attract Canadian shoppers to post-Thanksgiving sales at various retail centers south of the border.

Drivers should expect heavier than normal traffic on I-5 between Seattle and the Canadian border leading up to and through Thanksgiving weekend.

Know before you go:

Drivers can get current information about congestion and wait times at the Canadian border on the WSDOT Web site at: www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/border/

We are also providing updates to local media and recommend you tune in to local media stations for the latest updates and traffic conditions.
