KIRKLAND – Next week crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation plan to stripe the roadway and ramps between NE 85th and NE 132nd Streets. Construction closures affecting I-405 traffic in Kirkland the week of October 19-26 include:
I-405 mainline
- Friday, Oct. 19, weather permitting, crews will close up to three lanes in each direction of I-405 to finish striping the roadway. The first lane will close at 10 p.m. with up to three lanes closed by midnight. All lanes will reopen by 7 a.m. each following morning.
- Saturday, Oct. 20, weather permitting, crews will close up to three lanes in each direction of I-405 to finish striping the roadway. The first lane in each direction will close at 7 p.m. with up to three lanes closed by 11 p.m. All southbound lanes will reopen by 9 a.m. and all northbound lanes will reopen by 10 a.m.
- Sunday through Thursday nights, Oct. 21-25, weather permitting, crews will close up to three lanes in each direction of I-405 between NE 85th and NE 116th Streets to finish striping the roadway and install signs. At least one lane will remain open to traffic. Crews will begin closing southbound lanes at 7 p.m. and northbound lanes at 9 p.m. All southbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. and all northbound lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. each following morning.
- Monday through Thursday, Oct. 22-25, weather permitting, crews will close the far right lane in each direction from NE 85th and NE 116th Streets except during rush hours to stripe and work on the shoulder.
- Monday through Friday, Oct. 22-26, expect daily closures of the northbound and southbound HOV lanes except during rush hours while crews work on the new HOV ramps north of the NE 128th Street bridge and place permanent striping.
- Monday through Friday nights, Oct. 22-26, crews will close up to three lanes in each direction between NE 124th and NE 132nd Streets for striping and bridge painting. The first southbound lane will close at 7 p.m.; the first northbound lane will close at 9 p.m. All southbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m., all northbound by 6 a.m.
I-405/NE 85th Street interchange
- Friday, Oct. 19, weather permitting, crews will close the northbound I-405 on-ramp to NE 85th Street and the southbound I-405 off-ramp to NE 85th Street for striping. The ramps will close at 11 p.m. and reopen by 7 a.m. each following morning.
- Sunday through Friday nights, Oct. 21-26, weather permitting, crews will close the northbound I-405 on-ramp to NE 85th Street and the southbound I-405 off-ramp to NE 85th Street for striping. The ramps will close at 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m. each following morning.
- Sunday through Friday nights, Oct. 21-26, weather permitting, crews will close one westbound right lane on NE 85th Street near I-405 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews modify the southbound I-405 off-ramp to westbound NE 85th Street.
I-405/NE 116th Street interchange
- Friday, Oct. 19, weather permitting, crews will close the northbound I-405 off-ramp to NE 116th Street and the southbound I-405 on-ramp from NE 116th Street for striping. The ramps will close at 11 p.m. and reopen by 7 a.m. each following morning.
- Sunday through Friday nights, Oct. 21-26, weather permitting, crews will close the northbound I-405 off-ramp to NE 116th Street and the southbound I-405 on-ramp from NE 116th Street for striping. The ramps will close Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each following morning and Friday night from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
- Sunday through Thursday nights, Oct. 21-26, crews will close one eastbound and westbound lane on NE 116th Street near I-405 to stripe the roadway. At least one lane will remain open in each direction. Crews will close the lanes from 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each following morning.
I-405/NE 124th Street interchange
- Friday night, Oct. 19, weather permitting, crews will close the northbound I-405 off-ramp to NE 124th Street and the southbound I-405 on-ramp from NE 124th Street for striping. The ramps will close at 11 p.m. and reopen by 7 a.m. each following morning.
- Sunday through Friday nights, Oct. 21-26, weather permitting, crews will close the northbound I-405 off-ramp to NE 124th Street and the southbound I-405 on-ramp from NE 124th Street for striping. The ramps will close Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each following morning and Friday night from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
- Monday through Thursday nights, Oct. 22-25, expect closures of the southbound on and off-ramps at the NE 124th Street interchange from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving and striping, weather permitting. Signed detours will direct drivers to the NE 116th Street interchange.
Kirkland streets affected by I-405 construction
