BREMERTON – A routine bridge inspection will close State Route 303’s Manette Bridge in Bremerton from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Oct. 29 – Nov. 1.
Motorists can detour using the Warren Avenue Bridge during the closure times.
A complete closure of the bridge during inspection work is necessary because the 1930 structure is too narrow for traffic, equipment and the bridge crew to be on the roadway at the same time.
The Manette Bridge spans over the Port Washington Narrows in Bremerton. A project to replace the bridge is currently in the design phase. Construction on the replacement bridge is expected to begin the summer of 2010.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time for their commute during the closures, and can call 5-1-1 or visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic for road and traffic updates.
