WENATCHEE – Area contractors interested in working with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) on upcoming highway projects are invited to attend a free business open house at Central Washington University in Ellensburg next Monday. WSDOT is sponsoring this November 5th event in order to create a greater awareness of upcoming projects and the contracting and subcontracting opportunities that come with them.

This is an opportunity for prime contractors and subcontractors -- both certified Disadvantaged Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (DMWBE) and non-certified contractors to learn about upcoming projects to be advertised for bids in the next twelve months. They will be able to get information on the size, timing and scope of upcoming projects. They can also speak directly with WSDOT staff from South and North Central Region offices as well as Headquarters offices including Construction, Highways and Local Programs, Contract Ad & Award and the Office of Equal Opportunity. In addition, staff from the State Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises will be available to answer questions and help DMWBEs understand what programs are available to them.

WSDOT Consultant Services will also be available at the combined North Central/South Central region open house which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at Central Washington University, 400 E. University Way, in the Student Union and Recreation Center Ballroom.

This is a great opportunity for networking and partnering between prime contractors, subcontractors and WSDOT.

Cost: Free, no advance registration required.
