KIRKLAND – Next week crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will install signs and pave sections of the roadway. Construction closures affecting I-405 traffic in Kirkland the week of September 14-21 include:
I-405 Mainline
- Saturday, Sept. 14, crews will close up to three northbound lanes from NE 85th to NE 124th Streets to pave the roadway. Crews will close the first and second lane at 9 p.m., and the third lane 11 p.m. The first lane will reopen at 9 a.m., and all lanes will reopen by 11 a.m. Sunday morning. A least two lanes will remain open during the night.
- Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close up to three lanes in each direction from NE 85th to NE 116th Streets to finish paving and striping the roadway. Northbound, the first lane will close at 9 p.m. each night with up to three lanes closed by midnight. All northbound lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. each following morning. Southbound, crews will close the first lane at 7 p.m. each night with up to three lanes closed by 11 p.m. All southbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. each following morning.
- Monday through Friday, drivers should expect daily closures of two northbound and southbound lanes between NE 85th and NE 116th Streets while crews install signs and stripe the roadway. Northbound lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Southbound lanes will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Monday through Friday, drivers should expect daily closures of the northbound and southbound HOV lanes except during rush hours while crews work on the new HOV ramps north of the NE 128th Street bridge.
I-405/ NE 85th Street Interchange
- Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close the southbound off-ramp to NE 85th Street from 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each following morning to reconfigure the off-ramp. Drivers should look for and follow detour signs on I-405 and local streets.
- Tuesday through Thursday nights, crews will close the northbound on-ramp from NE 85th Street from 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each following morning to stripe the on-ramp. Drivers should look for and follow detour signs on I-405 and local streets.
I-405/NE 116th Street Interchange
- Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close the southbound on-ramp from NE 116th Street from 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each following morning to pave the on-ramp. Drivers should look for and follow detour signs on I-405 and local streets.
- Tuesday through Thursday nights, crews will close the northbound off-ramp to NE 116th Street from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each following morning to pave and stripe the off-ramp. Drivers should look for and follow detour signs on I-405 and local streets.
I-405/NE 124th Street Interchange
- Monday and Tuesday nights, crews will close the southbound on-ramp from NE 124th Street from 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each following morning stripe the roadway. Drivers should look for and follow detour signs on I-405 and local streets.
- Monday and Thursday nights, crews will close the northbound off-ramp to NE 124th Street from 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each following morning to pave the off-ramp. Drivers should look for and follow detour signs on I-405 and local streets.
Kirkland streets affected by I-405 construction
- Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close NE 116th Street where it passes under I-405 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to modify traffic signals, install traffic loop detectors and pave the roadway. Drivers should look for and follow detour signs on I-405 and local streets.
- Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close the left lanes of eastbound and westbound NE 85th Street and westbound right lane. The lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each following morning while crews conduct surveying work and cut pavement for reconfiguration of the NE 85th Street interchange.
- 116th Avenue NE is closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic from NE 128th Street south to McDonalds until October 2007. For more information, please visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/i405/TotemLake/construction.
