KIRKLAND – Next week crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will install signs and pave sections of the roadway. Construction closures affecting I-405 traffic in Kirkland the week of Aug. 24-31 include:
I-405 Mainline
- Friday night, Aug. 24, crews will close up to three southbound lanes from NE 116th to NE 85th Streets to pave the roadway. The first two lanes will close at 10 p.m., and the third at 11 p.m. Only one lane will remain open to traffic between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Saturday morning. All lanes will re-open by 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
- Saturday night, crews will close up to two northbound lanes from NE 85th to NE 124th Streets between 9 p.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday morning to pave the roadway. Only two lanes will remain open to traffic.
- Saturday night, crews will close up to three southbound lanes from NE 116th to NE 85th Streets between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. Sunday morning to pave the roadway. Only one lane will remain open to traffic.
- Saturday through Thursday, expect daily closures of the far right southbound lane between NE 85th and NE 116th Streets except during rush hours while crews inspect pavement and conduct plant maintenance.
- Sunday through Thursday nights, crews will close up to three southbound lanes from NE 116th to NE 85th Streets to pave the roadway. The first lane will close at 7 p.m. each night with up to three lanes closed by 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. each following morning.
- Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close up to three northbound lanes from NE 85th to NE 116th Streets to pave the roadway. The first lane will close at 9 p.m. each night with up to three lanes closed by midnight. All lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. each following morning.
- Monday through Thursday, drivers should expect daily closures of the far right northbound lane between NE 85th and NE 116th Streets except during rush hours while crews install signs, inspect pavement and conduct plant maintenance.
- Expect daily closures of the northbound and southbound HOV lanes except during rush hours while crews work on the new HOV ramps north of the NE 128th Street bridge.
I-405/ NE 85th Street Interchange
- Sunday through Thursday nights, crews will close the southbound off-ramp to NE 85th Street from 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each following morning to pave the off-ramp. A signed detour will be in place.
I-405/NE 116th Street Interchange
- Sunday through Thursday nights, crews will close the southbound on-ramp from NE 116th Street from 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each following morning to pave the on-ramp and install traffic detectors. A signed detour will be in place.
- Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close the northbound off-ramp to NE 116th Street from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each following morning to pave the off-ramp. A signed detour will be in place.
I-405/NE 124th Street Interchange
- Saturday night, crews will close the northbound off-ramp to NE 124th Street from 9 p.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday morning to pave the roadway. A signed detour will be in place.
Kirkland streets affected by I-405 construction
