**STATE HIGHWAY INCIDENT**
Highway number: I-5
Geographical location: One mile south of the Snohomish/Skagit County line, and just north of the 300th Street exit.
Milepost: 216.7
Incident description: The asphalt on a bridge deck on I-5 has started to break apart, creating a rough and bumpy driving surface. Crews will grind the old asphalt off and then come back and lay down new asphalt to smooth the highway for drivers.
Incident start time: 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 23
End time (open to traffic): Approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday, January 24
Other information: Crews will keep one lane open during the emergency repair work. This work will likely cause delays. Drivers should plan ahead, leave early, or consider rescheduling trips.
