GIG HARBOR – Drivers depending on the Traffic Cams along SR 16 will need to get their traffic information by calling 5-1-1 until tomorrow morning.
The fiber optic lines for the cameras were scheduled to be moved to a new location today, Tuesday, Jan. 23, keeping the cameras off-line for at least half the day. During the location move, the lines were inadvertently cut and now need to replaced, which will keep them off-line until tomorrow morning.
WSDOT realizes how travelers depend on these cameras and they are working to get them up again as soon as possible.
Real time traffic and weather information is available to motorists by dialing 5-1-1 from most phones. 5-1-1- gives up-to-the-minute information on Puget Sound traffic conditions, statewide construction impacts and incident information.
