BAINBRIDGE ISLAND –Motorists using the State Route (SR) 305 Agate Pass Bridge on Wednesday, Jan. 24 should expect travel delays as the WSDOT crews perform a special inspection of the bridge from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The bridge sustained damage from an oversized load last year. This inspection work is to prepare for the repair operation scheduled for later this winter.

Drivers are encouraged to plan their commute accordingly and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destination.

Opened on Oct. 7, 1950, Agate Pass Bridge is 1,229 feet long and currently averages 22,000 vehicles per day. The bridge is the primary link between the Winslow ferry terminal and the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas.

Drivers can call 5-1-1 or visit http://wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/ for road and traffic updates.
