KIRKLAND – Some work is weather dependent, if work can not be done due to bad weather, closures will be scheduled for the following day. Crews plan to stop construction work at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 22 for the holiday weekend, and will resume work on Wednesday, December 27. Crews will also stop work for the New Years holiday at noon, Friday, December 29 and will resume work Wednesday, January 3.
Interstate 405 mainline
- NEW – Crews will close one southbound and northbound lane between NE 85th Street and NE 116th Street Friday, December 22, and Wednesday (December 27) through Friday (December 29) from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. to set noise wall panels and control erosion.
- NEW – Drivers should expect closures of up to three northbound lanes near NE 116th Street one night between Wednesday (December 27) and Friday (December 29) from 12:00 a.m. to 5 a.m. while crews put up signs. The first lane will close as early as 9 p.m.
Kirkland streets affected by I-405 construction
- 116th Avenue NE is reduced to one lane in each direction at the NE 128th Street intersection for several weeks as crews rebuild the intersection. Flaggers will assist construction vehicles entering and leaving the work zone and will direct pedestrian traffic.
All of these closures are necessary for crews to perform work associated with WSDOT's Kirkland Nickel Improvement Project and Sound Transit's Totem Lake Freeway Station Project. For more information or to sign up for e-mail updates, visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/i405.
