WSDOT crews are out in full force at this hour, pushing to keep roads clear during heavy downpours. In some areas, the water is coming down very hard and fast.
Here are the current trouble spots in Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, and King counties as of 2 p.m.
Highway 20 near Lyman (milepost 73)
There is water over the roadway at Child’s Creek and Jones Creek and Red Cabin Creek.
Highway 20 from Marblemount to nine miles west of Mazama (milepost 106 – 171)
The road is entirely closed due to slides and water in multiple locations.
SR 542 between Maple Falls and Glacier (milepost 26)
The road is closed. Drains are clogged and water is flowing over the road. WSDOT crews are actively clearing drains.
SR 542 east of Glacier (milepost 35)
The road is closed. The river has jumped the channel and may have damaged the roadway and the shoulder.
Highway 9 north of Acme (milepost 72)
Road is closed in both directions. There is a foot of water over the roadway in some areas. The water continues to rise.
Skeleton crews from Whatcom and Skagit counties are going to home to sleep so they can return tonight when rivers are expected to rise. Overnight, they’ll watch roads to keep drivers safe in the dark.
SR 530 east of Arlington (milepost 22)
The road is closed at the Arlington Heights bridge. There is significant flooding in the area.
SR 530 (milepost 67)
The road is closed due to water over the roadway.
US 2 in Grotto (east of Sultan)
Crews report six inches of water on the road but the road is still open.
US 2 in Sultan
Sultan Police have closed the road and the bridge.
US 2 at Ebey Slough
WSDOT crews are removing debris that is starting to collect at the bridge. The road is NOT closed. Crews have no plans to close the road at this time.
SR 18 in Auburn
SR 18 off ramp to Auburn Way is closed due to deep standing water at the base of the off-ramp.
SR 164 under SR 18
The road is closed due to standing water.
SR 123 in Mt. Rainier National Park (milepost 5-17)
Mount Rainier National Park crews closed SR 123 due to multiple mudslides and water over the road. WSDOT maintenance crews are on the way to clear the slides and check for possible roadway damage.
SR 410 remains open. Drivers who normally use SR 123 to get to and from US Highway 12 can use Interstate 5 and SR 7 as alternate routes or via SR410 east to the intersection with US 12 near Naches.
Highway 410 (Crystal Mountain and Chinook Pass)
Highway 410 is closed at Crystal Mountain Boulevard. Chinook Pass is also closed due to high water and high winds.
