These plans depict the fabrication and installation requirements for a precast 42-inch high concrete barrier.

The barrier is used in the median of a divided highway when high performance concrete barriers are justified. Design guidance is provided in Chapter 1610 of the Design Manual. The barrier design was developed and satisfactorily crash-tested by the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Using this specific barrier type in a project will require a contract special provision.
