SR 9 Tawes Creek and Two Tributaries to Tawes Creek - Fish Passage - #9380

Description: In 2019, WSDOT contractor crews from Granite Construction will repave and improve pedestrian crossing areas on SR 542 from I-5 to Britton Road through Bellingham.

SR 542 Bellingham to Kendall Area Resurfacing - #9372

Anacortes - Superload move

Description: A superload will move from Port of Anacortes to the Marathon Refinery.
Work schedule:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 15, to the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 16 - Travelers will experience brief traffic holds and slowdowns on SR 20 Spur and SR 20 from 11:59 p.m. and 4 a.m. between R Avenue and March's Point Road during a superload move.
SR 530 Sauk-Suiattle Confluence - CED Retrofit - #9436

SR 20 Deception Pass Bridge and Canoe Pass Bridge - Painting and Special Repair - #9344

Description: In 2019, WSDOT contractor crews from Eagle Industrial Painting will start at two year bridge painting and special repair project.

  • Until further notice - Parking along SR 20 is limited during bridge painting work.
  • Until further notice - Loud sandblasting work could happen daily Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Visitors to the area and Deception Pass State Park should prepare for this noise and consider packing hearing protection for young children.
  • Until the morning of Friday, Oct. 18 - Crews will close one lane of SR 20 over Deception Pass and Canoe Pass bridges nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for bridge painting work. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the open lane.
  • Sunday, Oct. 13, to the morning of Friday, Oct. 18 - Crews will close one lane of SR 20 over Deception Pass and Canoe Pass bridges nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for bridge painting work. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the open lane.
