Whatcom County

  • Wednesday, April 15 to the morning of Thursday, April 16 – A lane on eastbound SR 544 will alternate at milepost 3.65 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.

Skagit County

Work schedule:

  • Monday, April 6 to the afternoon of Friday, April 10 – A lane on eastbound SR 534 will alternate between I-5 and west of SR 9 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
  • Monday, April 6 to the morning of Saturday, April 11 – A lane on southbound SR 9 will alternate between Gunderson Road and Babcock Road from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily.

SR 20 Spur - city of Anacortes

Description: City of Anacortes contractor crews will build a roundabout east of the Anacortes Ferry Terminal.
Work schedule:

  • Monday, March 16, through Friday, May 29 - Contractor crews working for city of Anacortes will work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to build a roundabout at the intersection of SR 20 Spur/Oakes Avenue and Glasgow Way/Ship Harbor Boulevard just east of the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. During some stages of work, traffic will be alternated through the intersection and at other times some travelers will need to follow a signed detour. SR 538 Highway Widening - Mount Vernon

Work schedule:

  • Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 20 - Travelers should expect overnight lane closures and daytime shoulder work at the I-5 and SR 538/College Way interchange during city of Mount Vernon widening work.
  • Friday, March 20, through the morning of Monday, March 23 - The SR 538/College Way on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close from 7 a.m. Friday, March 20, through 6 a.m. the morning of Monday, March 23 for widening work. A signed detour will be in place. This work is weather dependent.
  • Friday, March 20, through the morning of Monday, March 23 - The southbound I-5 off-ramp to SR 538/College Way will close from 7 a.m. Friday, March 20, through 6 a.m. the morning of Monday, March 23 for widening work. A signed detour will be in place. This work is weather dependent.

Island County

SR 20 Deception Pass Bridge and Canoe Pass Bridge - Painting and Special Repair - #9344

Description: In 2019, WSDOT contractor crews from Eagle Industrial Painting will start at two year bridge painting and special repair project.

Work schedule:

  • Until further notice - Parking along SR 20 is limited during bridge painting work.
  • Until further notice - Crews will close a lane of SR 20 nightly between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge painting and repair work. A flagger will alternate traffic through an open lane.
  • Until further notice - Crews will do sandblasting work to remove old paint from the Canoe Pass and Deception Pass bridges. This work will happen daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and can be extremely loud, especially for anyone walking or driving near the bridges.
