I-5 - SR 510 Interchange - Reconstruct Interchange

Description: Crews are converting the existing overpass into a diverging diamond interchange. All users of this interchange are strongly encouraged to sign up to receive WSDOT email updates.
Work Schedule:  Around-the-clock single-lane closure for northbound I-5 exit to Marvin Road. One lane will remain open.
I-5 - Plum St to S Tacoma Way - Paving

Description: Crews will repave sections of I-5 between Olympia and Tacoma. The project will also repair three bridges in Thurston and Pierce Counties.

Northbound I-5 single- and double-lane closures between milepost 112 and 117.8 

10 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 10-14, until 4:30 a.m. each following day
Southbound I-5 right lane closure with traffic shift at milepost 109. 

10 p.m. Friday to 4:30 a.m. Monday, June 7-10 and June 14-17
Weekend work on northbound I-5 in Nisqually has been rescheduled due to forecasted rain. Weekend lane closures is rescheduled to the weekends of June 15-16 and June 22-23.

I-5 - Plum St to S Tacoma Way - Paving

Description: Crews will repave areas of I-5 and make repairs to the driving surface of three bridges in Thurston and Pierce Counties.

Work schedule: 
From 10 p.m. Friday, June 14, to 4:30 a.m. Monday, June 17, northbound I-5 in Nisqually will have reduced lanes. Two of the three lanes will remain open. Drivers can expect potential major delays especially Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The same northbound I-5 lane closures will occur from 10 p.m. Friday, June 21, to 4:30 a.m. Monday, June 24.

Expect lengthy delays
Since there are no convenient detours through the area, travelers need to plan ahead.

  • Travel before 9 a.m. or after 9 p.m.
  • Postpone or cancel discretionary trips.
  • Allow lots of extra time for travel.
  • Consider using transit or carpooling.

7 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 17-21
Single-right closure of northbound I-5 between milepost 107.5 and 112
10 p.m.
Northbound I-5 reduced to a single-lane
6 a.m. each following day
All lanes reopen 

I-5 - Olympia Area Southbound - Congestion Management

Description: Crews will install ramp meters for southbound I-5 between Martin Way and Henderson Boulevard. WSDOT will activate the ramp meters during late summer.

  • Intermittent ramp closures for each on-ramp to southbound I-5 between Martin Way and Henderson Boulevard.

SR 507, N of Rainier to Junction 7 - Paving
Highway: SR 507 Region: Olympic County: Thurston Location: Milepost(s) 23.70 to 43.57

Description: Crews will repave the roadway from Rainier in Thurston County to SR 7 near Spanaway in Pierce County. 
Work Schedule: 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, until 5 a.m. each following day, drivers will encounter one-way alternating traffic. 

SR 510 - Meridian Rd SE - SR 510 Roundabout and Paving

SR 510 Region: Olympic County: Thurston Location: Milepost(s) 6.9 to 7

Description: Workers will repave SR 510 between Old Pacific Highway Southeast and Reservation Road Southeast and complete work on the new roundabout. 
Work Schedule: Short-term slowdowns for trucks entering and leaving the construction zone. Speed limit is reduced to 35 mph during working hours.

Description: Southbound I-5 asphalt repair.

10 p.m. Monday, June 17 to 5 a.m. the following day

  • Southbound I-5 approaching 93rd Avenue Southwest will be reduced to one lane.
  • Southbound I-5 exit to 93rd Avenue Southwest/State Route 121 will close. Drivers can detour via Maytown exit 95 and northbound I-5. 

10 p.m. Tuesday, June 18 to 5 a.m. the following day

  • Southbound I-5 will approaching Maytown will be reduced to one lane.
  • Southbound I-5 exit 95 to Maytown will close. Drivers will use alternate routes. 

10 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 to 5 a.m. the following day

  • Southbound I-5 right lane closure at milepost 87.5 after the US 12/Grand Mound interchange.

10 p.m. Thursday, June 19 to 5 a.m. the following day

  • Southbound I-5 approaching US 12/Grand Mound exit 88 will be reduced to one lane.
  • Southbound I-5 exit 88 to US 12/Ground Mound will close. Drivers will detour via Harrison Avenue exit 82 and northbound I-5.

Description: Southbound I-5 double-lane closure for bridge joint maintenance. 
Work Schedule: 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18 to 5 a.m. the following day.

Highway: US 12 Region: Olympic County: Thurston Location: Milepost(s) 38.5 to 46

Description: Slow moving vehicle in both directions for vegetation management. Crews will pull over as needed to let traffic pass. 
Work Schedule: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday through Thursday through Thursday, June 27.
