Drivers can expect night ramp, and lane closures. Pedestrians and bicyclists may encounter detours for ADA ramp improvements.
Work Schedule: See below:

Highway: SR 3 Location: Milepost(s) 59 to 53.5

  • Expect lane and shoulder closures from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. through Friday, Aug. 23 for final striping and pavement markings.
  • During daytime hours through Friday, Aug. 23, expect shoulder closures as crew conduct electrical work.
  • Work will occur SR 3/Finn Hill Road or SR 3/SR 305 on-ramps and exits.

Highway: SR 166 Location: Milepost(s) 3.4 to 5.1
Crews have nearly completed this project including repaving the single-lane roundabout at Mile Hill Drive/Bethel Avenue. Expect daytime shoulder closures for electrical work and at night, expect single lane closures for installation of pavement markings between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. through early fall.

Highway: SR 304 Location: Milepost(s) 1.7 to 2.6
Contractor crews are nearing completion of improvement efforts for Burwell Street (SR 304). In addition to the ongoing miscellaneous electrical work there are several construction phases remaining.

  • Use machinery to remove the existing roadway surface. After the old asphalt is removed, crews will repave the roadway.
  • After paving is complete, crews will raise utilities back to the elevation of the road. This process will be loud, as crews will use jackhammers to elevate infrastructure.

This night work will begin as early Monday, Aug. 19 and continue for up to four weeks. Work will begin each weeknight around 8 p.m. and end around 6 a.m. During this time, crews will work in a linear fashion throughout the project limits between Warren Avenue and Callow Avenue. Expect one-way alternating traffic with flaggers during this overnight work.

Highway: SR 305 Region: Olympic County: Kitsap Location: Milepost(s) 6.8
Contact: Michele Britton, 360-874-3000
Description: Crews will repaint the SR 305 Agate Pass Bridge. During work activities, drivers will notice a reduced speed limit. The bridge will reduce to one-way alternating traffic during nighttime hours. One sidewalk will remain open. See additional information at the project web page.
Work Schedule: See below:

  • 5 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following day workers will remove old paint from the bridge.
  • Between 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following day expect one-way alternating traffic with flaggers on the SR 305 Agate Pass Bridge as work continues through Friday, Aug. 23.

Noise
Contractor crews will blast away old paint off the bridge, and this activity is noisy. Due to safety and traffic considerations, this work will be done at night through Friday, Aug. 23.

Reduced speed limit
The temporary speed reduction to 35 mph affects SR 305 from milepost 6.74 to milepost 7.06. The lowered speed limit will be enforceable as soon as signs are posted. The speed reduction will help keep travelers moving while WSDOT contractor crews set up a containment system and repaint the bridge. Once the work is complete for the season, the speed limit will return to 45 mph.

Around-the-clock
Oversized loads prohibited

Loads over legal weights are prohibited from crossing the Agate Pass Bridge.
