Express Lanes Schedule Changes

Description: The I-5 express lanes are used to assist the flow of traffic during busy travel times. These lanes are scheduled to move in the direction that will relieve the most congestion from the transportation system.

  • High Impact - Saturday, June 22 - The I-5 express lanes will be open in the northbound direction only from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The lanes will not open in the southbound direction.
  • Sunday, June 23 - The I-5 express lanes will open in the southbound direction at 9 a.m. 

SB S Lucile St to Spring St Pavement Repair - #9235

  • High Impact - Wednesday, June 19, to the morning of Friday, June 21 - The southbound I-5 collector/distributor will close at Airport Way from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. During this time, all traffic will exit via the Airport Way off-ramp and follow the signed detours in place to access southbound I-5. This work is weather-dependent.
  • Wednesday, June 19, to the morning of Thursday, June 20 - The 6th Avenue/James Street on-ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. This work is weather-dependent.

    Express Lanes Entrances Electronic Sign Replacement - #9272
