Rural Transit Assistance Grants

Rural public transportation operators receive training and technical assistance through the Rural Transit Assistance Program. The Federal Transit Administration's Formula Grants for Rural Areas Program 5311(f) provides funding. As detailed in the table below, WSDOT provides grants to organizations to deliver support services like trainings, conferences, workshops, newsletters, bulletins, web-based tools and access to research. In addition, WSDOT also provides up to $70,000 per biennium in scholarships to rural public transportation operators to help cover costs associated with trainings, conferences and mentorships.
