All sections will receive bituminous surface treatment, fog seal and rumble strips. Not all sections, but most will receive crack sea, pavement repair, prelevel, and guardrail.

This project should start in May and be completed in September 2019.

SR 21 - West Fork Sanpoil Bridge Replacement

On State Route 21, approximately 15 miles south of Republic, there is currently just one lane over the West Fork Sanpoil River temporary bridge. This project will construct a new permanent bridge, with construction beginning in late spring 2019. A temporary bridge will be used during construction in order to keep SR 21 open. The new bridge will be 117 feet in length, which is 60 feet longer than the existing bridge, and will have 11' lanes and 4' shoulders.

SR 21 - Keller Ferry Terminal and Pontoon Replacement

The project has been awarded to Imco General Construction, Inc. The project will begin work on April 17 at 7:30 am. Crews will begin pile driving operations. There will be no traffic impacts to the ferry service at this time.

Needs & benefits

This project will replace severely corroded pontoons of the terminals on both sides of the river. This project is located on SR 21 at the Keller Ferry Terminals in Lincoln and Ferry Counties. This project replaces pontoons, decking, railing, and anchors.

I-90 - SR 21 to Ritzville - Paving

Project news

Project awarded to Central Washington Asphalt Inc. on January 17, 2019, for $6,272,222. The contractor has completed crushing operations of the aggregate in the Becker Quarry site near MP 212.70. Once the roadway surface has been milled, the project will be signed with a reduced speed limit of 60 mph. This reduction will be enforced day and night until roadway striping operations are complete in June. Expect single lane closures and short term, intermittent ramp closures.

US 395 - Bridge Pier - Redirectional Landform Mitigation

Needs & benefits

This project updates and repairs existing safety features currently in place along several routes in Eastern Washington. Guardrail will be raised and upgraded, redictional landforms around piers will be removed and replaced with a barrier. Guardrail end treatments will be upgraded to new crashworthy terminals.
