US 395 - Pioneer Memorial Bridge - Bridge Painting Stage 1

Project news

This project is currently in design and will begin spring 2019.

Needs & benefits

The existing steel surface on the US 395 Pioneer Memorial Bridge between Kennewick and Pasco needs to be repainted, the paint is deteriorated and peeling, exposing the steel to weather. This project will clean and repaint the steel surface of the bridge to restore, revitalize, and prolong the life of the bridge. Stage 1 of this project will prevent further deterioration and preserve the steel truss elements supporting the roadway deck and the truss bottom cord. Stage 2 of this project will paint the remaining  steel elements of the bridge in the future.

Construction begins - Spring 2019
