US 195 - Smythe Rd to Paradise Rd - Decreasing Lanes Only - Paving

Project news

US 195 traffic will be impacted late spring 2019, to summer 2019 while the roadway surface is rehabilitated.  The work will take place approximately 10 miles south of the City of Spokane and have potential short term traffic delays for several weeks.

Needs & benefits

Northbound lanes of this divided section of highway are constructed of Portland Cement Concrete pavement, which remains in serviceable condition.

Southbound (SB) lanes constructed of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) was last paved in 2003 and has now reached the end of its service life. By grinding and paving the SB lanes the serviceability will be maintained.

Timeline

Paving is scheduled to begin April 22, and be complete late summer of 2019.
