US 195 - Colfax to Spangle - Add Passing Lanes - Phase 2

Project news

Work is planned to begin in April, 2018.

NA Degerstrom, Inc. of Spokane is the prime contractor with a construction bid of $4,073,200.

Needs & benefits

The US 195 Passing Lane project was included in the Connecting Washington funding package to provide additional passing opportunities along this corridor to alleviate the potential for head-on collisions which aligns with the goal of Washington State’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan: Target Zero to reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries to zero by the year 2030. This project is currently split into two phases. The first phase constructed two of the passing lanes near Colfax in 2017. This second phase will build the remaining four passing lane segments.

(Note: The SR 26 truck climbing/passing lanes west of Colfax are funded for construction, in a separate project, during 2025.)
