SR 31 - South of Metaline - Unstable Slope Repair

Project news

Awarded to Pile Contractors, Inc. of Issaquah, WA, with a construction bid of $685,703.

Needs & Benefits

The steep slope adjacent to SR 31 in the vicinity of MP 11.0 has historically had loose material slides that required lengthy highway closures.  This project will construct a soldier-pile debris containment wall to capture the active debris flows.

Timeline

Work is scheduled to begin on September 4th. After mobilization is complete, the first order of work will be to set up a temporary signal with one lane, two-way traffic.  Expect delays in both directions.  Contract trucks will access the construction area within the temporary signals. A reduced speed limit of 35 mph through the project site will be in effect once the signal is turned on.
