SR 240 - Richland Corridor Improvements

Project news

  • Join us for a SR 240 Richland Corridor Improvements Study open house on Thursday, March 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Richland Community Center, 500 Amon Park Drive, Richland. Hear from WSDOT staff and project partners about congestion and safety issues in the corridor, and possible ways to address those issues. Tell us what you think about the purposed strategies and solutions.
  • Thank you to all those who took the time to participate in our second survey. We had 1,044 responses from November 29, 2018 through January 7, 2019 and received feedback on possible solutions to the corridor issues.
  • Thank you to all those who took the time to participate in our initial survey regarding the SR 240 corridor. We had 2,494 responses from September 19 - October 23 and got excellent feedback on how people use the corridor, what the major issues are between I-182 and SR 225, and your ideas addressing those issues.
  • Design for this project is expected to start summer 2019.

Needs & Benefits

Growth in Richland has led to increased congestion at several existing intersections on SR 240 from I-182 and SR 225. This project will improve safety and mobility throughout the transportation network through infrastructure improvements, operational enhancements and transportation demand management strategies.
