I-90 - Barker Road intersection improvements

Project news

The Barker interchange project is located east of downtown Spokane. This project will reconstruct and improve the interchanges, of I-90 and Barker Road, at both the north and south terminals. The project is in the planning phase and will go to ad in the spring of 2020.

Needs & benefits

The existing ramp terminals at the Barker intersection currently see traffic volumes that exceed their ability to function properly. The modifications anticipated with the interchange to the on and off-ramps will increase the safety of the interchange and reduce traffic backed up on Barker Road.

Timeline

Currently, the project is in the planning phase with a target ad date and construction for spring 2020.
