I-90 - SR 21 to Ritzville - Paving

Project news

Project awarded to Central Washington Asphalt Inc. on January 17, 2019, for $6,272,222. The contractor has completed crushing operations of the aggregate in the Becker Quarry site near MP 212.70. Once the roadway surface has been milled, the project will be signed with a reduced speed limit of 60 mph. This reduction will be enforced day and night until roadway striping operations are complete in June. Expect single lane closures and short term, intermittent ramp closures.

Needs & benefits

This project will restore 9.9 miles of the existing asphalt pavement by grinding and placing 0.15 foot depth of asphalt on the driving lanes and shoulders. The project will extend between the Lind and Ritzville interchanges.

Construction began on April 15. All contract work was completed the week of June 10. Minor items remain.
