Thomas Street: Thomas Street remains closed on both sides of Seventh Avenue North. The eastern closure is for private construction at 333 Dexter Avenue North.

Seventh Avenue North: Sidewalks on the east side of the street have been rebuilt and are open. Crews have closed the sidewalks on the west side of the street for construction.

October: Crews are rebuilding the intersection of Denny Way and Seventh Avenue North. Travelers should expect periodic lane and sidewalk closures throughout the month, but no full street closures.


Fall: Expect single lane closures and night work on and near Battery Street between First and Sixth avenues for ongoing utility work inside the Battery Street Tunnel.

September - October: The sidewalk on the east side of Borealis Avenue is closed for construction. The bus stop has been relocated one block away on Battery Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues.


Ongoing: Crews have removed the Alaskan Way Viaduct and are restoring the worksite. Visit the interactive map tracker to see current work locations and street closures.

Ongoing: Columbia Street is closed to vehicles between First Avenue and Alaskan Way by the Waterfront Seattle Program. Visit their website for more details.

Sept. 5: Marion Street will be closed between Western Avenue and Alaskan Way for about a monoth.


October: Crews will be reopening the northbound local access lane on the east side of Alaskan Way. Some parking in this area will also reopen.

  • Ongoing: Crews are working most Saturday nights removing the viaduct above the BNSF railroad tracks near Pine Street.
  • Sept. 30 - late October: Crews will work at the intersection of Battery Street and Second Avenue, 7 p.m. - 5 a.m. to install duct banks under the road. This work will last approximately one month
  • Oct. 14-21: Crews installing a duct bank will be working at night 7 p.m. - 5 a.m. at the intersection of Battery Street and Third Avenue.
