SR 530 - I-5 Interchange to SR 9 - Paving and ADA Compliance - Completed December 2018

Overview

In summer 2018, contractor crews from Cadman Materials, Inc. repaved both directions of SR 530 between I-5 and SR 9 in Arlington. Five sidewalk ramps at the SR 9 intersection were also upgraded, creating a wider ramp and more gradual slope.

How you benefit

  • Preservation: Grinding, eliminating ruts and repaving improves the driving surface and extends the lifespan of the roadway.
  • Economic: The new pavement reduces the need for emergency repairs, which are costly to taxpayers and can cause additional congestion.
  • Safety: Improving the highway surface eliminates and helps prevent future potholes, cracks and wheel ruts where water can collect. This gives drivers a safer, smoother ride. Reconstructed sidewalk ramps at intersections create better connections for people of all abilities.

Funding

The cost of this project was $2.8 million.
