This photo shows the cracks and rutting on SR 520 near Bellevue.
Repaving SR 520 between 108th Avenue Northeast and West Lake Sammamish Parkway helped eliminate cracks and rutting.

Contractor crews working for WSDOT repaved three miles of State Route 520 between 108th Avenue Northeast and West Lake Sammamish Parkway during the summer of 2014.

Crews also repaved four bridges, 10 ramps, replaced bridge expansion joints and placed new striping.

How You Benefit
Cross GlyphImproves Safety
By removing the existing top layer of pavement and repairing the roadbed underneath as needed, drivers have a smoother road and they are less likely to veer to avoid large cracks, potholes or standing water.
Dollar Sign Glyph Economic Incentive
Repaving these areas of SR 520 extends the useful life of the highway, preserves critical infrastructure, reduces annual maintenance costs and reduces the risk of costly and inconvenient emergency repairs.
