SR 410 - Bridge 410/101 Bridge Elements Repair - Repair Work

A large graphic showing the damaged and planned repairs to the SR 410 White River Bridge.

This graphic shows the areas of the bridge that were damaged and repaired or replaced.

The vertical beam on the left along with the upper horizontal beam was heat straightened. Heat straightening is a method that applies heat to steel in repetitive heating and cooling cycles to gradually reshape the steel.

The vertical beam on the right hand side was replaced along with the lower horizontal beam.

In addition, some minor repair occurred at the leading edge of the truss span.

After the steel is repaired or replaced, it was sandblasted and then painted to prevent rust and corrosion.
