SR 290 - Spokane River East Trent Bridge

Project News

Bridge design is underway.  The project start date has moved from spring 2019 to spring 2020.

Needs & benefits

This bridge crosses the Spokane River just east of Hamilton Street in east Spokane.  This structure has been in service since 1910 and is well beyond its useful life. The roadway surface, bridge rail, and piers require continuing extensive maintenance and repairs.  As part of this project, the existing bridge will be demolished and a new bridge will take its place.  The new structure will meet all current design and safety standards.  Also, Trent will be re-surfaced from Hamilton to the new Martin Luther King Way roundabout at Perry Street.

The City of Spokane has an adjacent project: Martin Luther King Way/Riverside Drive

Design work is underway.  The project is expected to be advertised for construction bids in Fall 2019 with work starting in 2020.
