I-90 - Lake Washington Floating Bridges Anchor Cable Replacement - Anchor Cable Diagrams

This graphic shows how the anchor cables are attached to the bridge and then attached to an anchor on the lake bed.
This shows the underwater portion of the anchor cable system. There are large anchors embedded in the lake bed. Each cable hooks into the anchor system's eyebar and then is fed into a pontoon where it is tightly secured.

This diagram shows which anchor cables on the I-90 floating bridges will be replaced.

The anchor cables that were replaced are orange in this diagram. Please note this diagram does not show all 108 anchor cables that help hold and stabilize the bridges. View a larger version of this diagram: Anchor Cable Replacement Diagram (pdf 361 kb)
