Southwest Region Projects

News

WSDOT works to deliver projects that improve motorist safety and relieve congestion on state roadways.

A busy, curvy section of State Route 14 near Cape Horn is getting some much needed safety improvements. The SR 14 - Cape Horn Bridge to Cape Horn Road project will increase safety by straightening curves and adding turn lanes at the Cape Horn Road and Salmon Falls Road intersections.

Approximately 4,600 vehicles drive this section of SR 14 each day. Construction on this $6.5 million project began Nov. 4 and is expected to be complete in fall 2011.
