Why is WSDOT
installing rumble strips?
Centerline rumble strips are a proven low-cost method of dramatically reducing cross-over collisions by alerting inattentive drivers when they are crossing into oncoming traffic.

- Safety. Reduces cross-over collisions and resulting injuries and fatalities.
- Jobs. Supports an estimated 30 construction-related jobs.
