- US 2 speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph. Southbound US 2 is now reduced to one lane. Wide loads are now restricted.
- Awarded to Graham Construction & Management of Spokane with a construction bid of $42,849,073.
This contract will lower US 2 between Farwell Road and Deadman Creek, construct six bridges and multiple retaining walls for the NSC/US 2 Interchange, and complete the mainline paving through the interchange. The contract also includes the construction of a frontage
road system along US 2 and a culvert for Deadman Creek..
Why is WSDOT
Lowering US 2 and building these bridges?
Lowering the grade of US 2 and building the bridges will create the full interchange for the North Spokane Corridor.

A full connection between these two major highways.

The job is currently under construction and is slated to open to traffic in 2011.
