US 2 - Pickle Farm Road/Gunn Road - Complete November 2007

Overview
We have improved safety and traffic flow at the intersection of US Route 2 and Pickle Farm Road/Gunn Road in Gold Bar, Washington by adding left-turn lanes, reconstructing the existing right-turn lane, installing new signs and upgrading sight distance and side slopes.

How You Benefit
Cross GlyphImproves Safety
New left-turn lanes at Pickle Farm/Gunn Road will help to reduce rear-end collisions. By providing drivers turning left off of US 2 with their own lane they are removed from the path of traffic continuing on US 2.
Car GlyphRelieves Congestion
New left-turn lanes from US 2 onto Pickle Farm Road/Gunn Road will reduce congestion in the area by allowing through traffic to continue without slowing for turning vehicles.

Partnerships & Cooperation
In May 2007 we awarded the contract to Wilder Construction of Everett, Washington. Crews began work in June 2007 and completed work in November 2007.

At WSDOT we seek to address the concerns of the tribal nations using the process outlined in Section 106 of The National Historic Preservation Act and the WSDOT Tribal Consultation Policy adopted in 2003 by the Transportation Commission as part of the WSDOT Centennial Accord Plan.
