US 2 - Forest Service Road to Money Creek - Paving - Complete September 2008

Overview
WSDOT and contractor Watson Asphalt Paving Co. crews repaved three miles of US 2 between Forest Service Road and Money Creek. We also installed centerline rumble strips and guardrail.

How You Benefit
Cross GlyphImproves Safety
Guardrail and centerline rumble strips will improve driver safety by reducing the risk of run-off-the-road and crossover collisions. New pavement will also enhance driver safety by eliminating cracks, potholes, and rough patches, providing drivers with a smooth ride.
Dollar Sign Glyph Economic Incentive
Repaving the highway will extend the lifespan of the pavement and reduce the need for costly and inconvenient repairs.

Partnerships & Cooperation
At WSDOT we seek to address the concerns of the tribal nations using the process outlined in Section 106 of The National Historic Preservation Act and the WSDOT Tribal Consultation Policy adopted in 2003 by the Transportation Commission as part of the WSDOT Centennial Accord Plan.

This project is exempt from the Section 106 process according to provisions of the Programmatic Agreement signed on July 18, 2000 between the Washington State Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, the State Historic Preservation Officer, and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation.

To learn more about Section 106 Tribal Consultation (also called government-to-government tribal consultation process) please visit WSDOT's Tribal Liaison page, where you'll find links to WSDOT Centennial Accord Plan and WSDOT's Tribal Consultation Policy (Adopted by the Transportation Commission on February 19, 2003).
