Overview
This project replaced two structurally deficient bridges across the Tieton River with two wider and longer bridges. The new bridges are 32 feet wide, providing 12 foot lanes and four foot shoulders. WSDOT and the contractor also moved the roadway between the two new bridges away from unstable slopes to reduce the risk of rockfall on the roadway.
 | Improves Safety
The new, wider bridges have improved safety. Rockfall risks are reduced and visibility has improved through realignment of the roadway.
|
 | Protects Environment
WSDOT and the contractor improved the natural flow of the river by removing the piers from the river. The new single span bridges did not require construction in the river.
