This project on US 101 near Hoodsport in Mason County created a new rock barrier on this wave-eroded location of US 101. This project preserves the integrity of US 101, a major transportation route vital to the area.
By reducing the threat of slides and delays this route will be safer and more reliable.
By stabilizing slopes, this project reduced the risk of debris reaching the roadway.
The construction measures associated with this project reduces the risk of unstable slopes and minimizes road closures.
