Overview
In spring 2008 we installed 1,800 feet of new sidewalks in each direction of SR 99 in Everett. We also widened the shoulder of the road and installed new signing, lighting, and drainage.

Contractor Wilder Construction crews began work in January 2008 and completed this project in early April 2008, nearly one month ahead of schedule.

How You Benefit
Cross GlyphImproves Safety
Before this project, pedestrians attempting to access residential developments, restaurants and other businesses in this area were forced to walk on the narrow shoulder of the highway. New sidewalks along this section of SR 99 remove pedestrians from walking near fast-moving traffic and provide a safe walkway through the area.

At WSDOT we seek to address the concerns of the tribal nations using the process outlined in Section 106 of The National Historic Preservation Act and the WSDOT Tribal Consultation Policy adopted in 2003 by the Transportation Commission as part of the WSDOT Centennial Accord Plan.

To learn more about the tribal consultation process please visit WSDOT's Tribal Liaison page, where you'll find links to WSDOT Centennial Accord Plan and WSDOT's Tribal Consultation Policy (Adopted by the Transportation Commission on February 19, 2003).
