This Safety Improvement, Collision Prevention project provides for an illumination system at the intersection of SR 971 and South Lakeshore Drive in Chelan County.
Why is WSDOT
installing illumination at the intersection of SR 971 and South Lakeshore Drive.
This intersection experienced a high number of night time accidents. It was determined that this intersection would benefit from an illumination system.

An illuminated intersection at SR 971 and S. Lakeshore Road.

This project will reduce nighttime accidents by increasing visibility at the intersection during hours of darkness.

Project signage will reflect the cost of construction engineering, project bid award and sales tax.
This project was advertised for private contractor bids on October 19, 2009. Three qualified bids were opened on Nov. 12. Contract #7840 was awarded to McCandlish Electric, Inc. for $163,704. on Nov. 17.
